As we continue to refine and enhance the MetaDOS experience, we're excited to share some significant updates that have been implemented. These changes span various aspects of the game, improving gameplay, visuals, and user experience. Let’s dive into the details!
A. General Changes
1. Upgraded the game to Photon Fusion 2
MetaDOS has upgraded to Photon Fusion 2, a powerful networking technology used in Unity to enhance the multiplayer experience. This upgrade improves synchronization and gameplay scenarios with low latency and high performance, ensuring a smoother and more stable gaming experience for all players.
2. Reworked Damage Display - Stacked Mode:
Damage Display: Damage indicators will always be positioned at the top left of the enemy. When an enemy is knocked down, the Damage Display will appear above their head.
3. New Revive System and Animation:
Revive Logic Changes:
Players can rotate the camera to observe their surroundings while reviving or being revived.
The default camera will have a wider view and align with the character's direction.
During the revive process, neither the reviver nor the revived can use weapons, skills, regen items, or throwable items. The revive process will be canceled immediately if any of these are used.
4. Reworked Skydive Control and Camera
Enhanced Skydive Mechanics:
Faster movement when holding the W key depending on the camera angle.
Various skydive speeds and directions are based on mouse movements and key presses, allowing greater control during the descent.
B. Hunter Changes
1. Space Karen Mythic Banner:
New banners were introduced for tiers 1 and 2.
2. Improved Throwable Animation:
Throwing a grenade now follows four stages: Equip, Trigger, Aiming, and Throwing.
C. Weapon Changes
Adding Rotation Light to ADS Gun Model:
New lighting is applied to all guns to enhance visual effects when aiming down sights (ADS).
Improved Weapon Sway System:
Adjustments were made to sway effects based on zoom level, movement, and breathing, offering a more realistic experience.
D. Map Changes
Our design team has focused on enhancing the environment and level design across several map areas. Key improvements include:
Terrain Restructuring: Diverse landscapes with vivid ground and water effects have been implemented to create a more dynamic environment.
Vegetation and Structure Enhancements: We’ve diversified the vegetation types and improved the details of trees and buildings to enrich the gameplay experience.
Skybox Addition: A new skybox has been added, featuring matte painting, animated clouds, new direct light, and fog setups to elevate the visual atmosphere.
E. UI/UX Changes
1. Skydive UI/UX Display:
The skydive interface has been redesigned to improve clarity and functionality. The new UI clearly displays your team formation, with your character centered on the screen.
2. Crosshair Animation:
A crosshair animation will trigger whenever you hit an object or enemy, providing instant feedback on your impact.
3. Gameplay Instructions in Lobby:
While waiting in the matchmaking lobby, players will now see clear instructions and objectives for the upcoming game mode, ensuring everyone is prepared and informed.
